Sébastien Coudert-Maugendre, born in 1987, is an interior designer and founder of a multidisciplinary studio in Paris, where he builds bridges between architecture, new technologies, and craftsmanship. Firmly rooted in the 21st century, his work addresses the link between reality and digital illusion. His research is driven by experimentation with materiality, light, shapes, and details, always to place poetry at the service of functionality, in a balance between contemporary and timeless lines.
He received a multicultural education in France, China, and Taiwan, then started his career working for major groups between Amsterdam and London. Driven by a desire to create, he moved to Paris to study interior architecture and design at ESAM Design. After obtaining his master's degree, he consecutively founded his agency in 2019.
In 2022, he helped found the Rhizome collective, a group of 11 craftsmen who participate in the realization of his architectural projects, and created his first pieces, which are notably spotted by Maison Piasa and selected by interior designers Anne Sophie Pailleret and Stéphanie Coutas.
