Alexandre Labruyere

Alexandre Labruyère, passionate craftsman and designer, draws inspiration from his travels and encounters to imagine, design, and manufacture furniture and decorative objects. Initially trained in industrial design, he explored many fields of object design (transport, art direction, luggage, etc.), allowing him to expand his taste for materials and his skills in using them.

In 2019, after working several years with a leading industrial sports company, he trained as a cabinetmaker with the Greta de l'Ecole Boulle in Paris before moving to Lille at the Cofabrik, a creative space nurturing exchanges around contemporary creation.

His work revolves around three fundamental axes: tension, lightness, and simplicity. These three notions guide his collections' experiment, design, and manufacture. The search for a tense line, yet fluid and enhanced by contrasting colors, is the basis of his pieces, whose simplicity, in its most positive sense, gives them a form of evidence: of function and use, evidence of the proper line, and, ultimately, the clarity of emotion. Infused with familiar poetry, the objects of the world created by Alexandre Labruyere reinforce our inner world and call upon a timeless memory of forms.
