Through this opening exhibition, Le point G by Galerie Gosserez presents a plurality of contemporary artistic visions, with Nature at the heart of their inspiration.
Carefully selected design pieces from the Galerie Gosserez collections (seats, pedestal tables, coffee tables, etc.) are intertwined with works by artists invited to the event.
As many movements as there are in Beethoven’s ‘‘Pastoral Symphony’’, five artists each present a captivating interpretation of natural beauty:
- Laurentine Périlhou (French) explores the intricacies of macramé. Daring combinations of cotton, viscose, and metallic (lurex) thread knots, she grows flowers, thistles, and clovers on her canvases.
- Shannon Clegg (British) has developed a hand-molding technique to shape and press wildflowers in 3 dimensions, creating delicate, poetic, vase-like floral sculptures.
- Mila Halizova (Russian, based in Montenegro) patiently gathers flower buds, acorns, and abalones, which she painstakingly assembles with clay to create minimalist canvases bwhose repeating motifs create reliefs of fascinating depth.
- aurèce vettier (French), in collaboration with an AI, collects millions of herbarium images to generate paintings and sculptures reinterpreting the possibilities of flora.
- L&C Lab (a duo of Chilean artists) create works from plant materials (fruit peels, seaweed, etc.) and recycled materials (cardboard, fabric, etc.), which they sew together and dye with natural pigments to create highly poetic pieces.
