Alongside Paris + by Art Basel, design and contemporary art come together to celebrate La Courbe at Le point G by Galerie Gosserez.
Invited by Marie-Bérangère Gosserez, curator and art advisor Marianne Dollo brings together works by contemporary visual artists Rebecca Brodskis, Emile Degorce-Dumas, Laura Garcia Karras, and Pauline Guerrier with pieces by Galerie Gosserez designers Lukas Cober, Diane de Kergal, Grégoire de Lafforest, Damien Gernay, Valentin Loellman and Georges Mohasseb.
"Because they convey emotion, pleasure, imagination, desire, and beauty, and carry a strong idea, certain design objects approach the status of works of art and manage to transcend their utilitarian function. For these creations, the boundary between design and art is thin. The exhibition "Libres Courbes" (Free Curves) offers the opportunity for a dialogue between the works of four visual artists and a selection of designers, chosen on purpose because they perfectly illustrate this happy and fertile interweaving of the fields of design and contemporary art. This link, though genuine, would not have been enough to bring together and confront these pieces, also chosen for the singular, sometimes offbeat, way in which they all celebrate the exhibition theme: the Curve line."
