Galerie Gosserez exhibits a selection of textile and concrete unique pieces from Marei Rei. The artist explores the fusion of handwoven wool and concrete into textile creations that speak of a poetical and multi-directional language, open to various fields of interpretation. Chosing tapestry or rug as an integral example of design enables the artist-designer to invent afresh and to imagine a new sensory experience based on a daily-life object. Inverting the use and the orientation of the object means that it can be used in ways that contradict its original function. Heavy becomes light and luminous, and solid concrete becomes flexible and supple.
